Exploring Astro Photography With Jon Tupper

The Grande Prairie Photography Club's February meeting took us on an exciting journey into deep space photography.

Our presenter, Jon Tupper, joined us from Fort McMurray via Zoom and shared his knowledge of the fascinating world of astro photography.

Jon explained the differences between terrestrial and astro photography, including how each approach captures the world around us.

• Astro photography gear and typical setups

• Different styles within the genre

• The ethics and considerations of photographing the night sky

• Techniques for capturing the moon, sun, and large star clusters visible to the human eye
