Classic Studio Portraits

Club Meeting : November 2023

In November our club met to practice a classic studio portrait set up: Two lights, a stool and a backdrop. Led by Doug Duplessis, this meeting focused on getting our members comfortable with the set up, white balance, posing and logistics of this style of photography. The goal was to prepare for the club's upcoming holiday portrait sessions at a couple seniors homes in Grande Prairie later on in the month.

The meeting provided great hand-on learning for all that attended. For the seniors photos, the club organized two days and facilities for members to donate their time and skills, and the digital photos were delivered to the participants free of charge. The photos received rave reviews from the seniors, their families and the care facilities.

A special thank you to Iris Gould Cornick, GP Photo Club Board member, for bringing forth the idea of seniors portraits. We hope to continue and build on this heartfelt avenue of community involvement.
