June 2026 Old Bezanson Townsite Field Trip

Our June field trip took us to the historic Old Bezanson Townsite, where we spent the afternoon exploring the area's natural beauty and rich history through our cameras.

The Townsite offered a wonderful mix of history, wildlife, and natural scenery, making it an ideal destination for photographers with diverse interests.

Although the skies were cloudy and a passing rainstorm sent us dashing for shelter in a gazebo, the weather certainly didn't dampen our enthusiasm. Once the rain passed, we continued our walk, photographing colourful butterflies, songbirds, historic monuments, towering forests, and sweeping landscapes.

One of the highlights of the day was overlooking the Smoky River as it flowed by at high speed. From the hilltop, we watched entire trees drift downstream, a powerful reminder of nature's ever-changing landscape and a unique photographic opportunity.

As always, the outing wasn't just about taking photos. It was about spending time together, sharing ideas, enjoying the outdoors, and seeing places not often visited.

We're already looking forward to a return visit when the autumn colours transform the landscape into a whole new photographic experience, including ICM playtime, and the air is fresh with the aromas of the season!
